PGMI Hosts Legislators at Better Made Snack Foods

Monday, Potato Growers of Michigan hosted nearly 40 attendees and state legislators at Better Made Snack Foods in Detroit for the latest Food and Facts Tour. The goal of the Food and Facts tours is to give key decision makers an inside look at how the Michigan potato industry works, and how it helps to benefit the State economy as a whole.

Phil Gusmano, VP of Purchasing at Better Made led the tour and spoke to lawmakers about Better Made’s sustainability practices, their efforts to buy Michigan grown potatoes, and, how they continue to be a leader in Detroit’s workforce. The next PGMI Food and Facts tour will take place at Horkey Brothers Farm in Dundee on July 12th.
